Naomi and Ben launched Guernsey Seaweed in 2019.
Carefully selecting and hand picking seaweeds from the beaches of Guernsey we make a variety of delicious food products including seasonings and a range of skincare and bath products. The temperatures and clean water around the island provide a perfect environment for seaweed and the beautiful scenery makes our job of hand collecting seaweed one of the best! These 'sea vegetables' are full of vitamins, minerals and trace elements (it's good for you!) and gives a special umami taste to your food. The same vitamins and minerals are good for your skin and hair - moisturising and healing and they feel nice too. What more could you ask for?
We've sold over 20,000 tins of seasonings since the launch of the food products in 2020, many of these are to repeat customers who enjoy the benefits of seaweed both for health and for taste, buying for themselves and to gift to others.
Our range of bath and body products can now be found in 10 hotels across Guernsey, where changing to refillable dispensers has replaced approximately 150,000 single use plastic bottles each year.
We send our products all over the world as well having stockists in Guernsey and Jersey.
Great Taste awards - winners!
We've won some more stars for our food seasonings - our Hot Chilli Seaweed Salt and Vegan Furikake have both won 2-stars and our Seaweed Dukkah and Mixed Seaweed Flakes both one 1 star.
14,340 products from over 110 countries were entered into these awards this year with about 28% winning 1-star, 11% winning 2-stars and just 2% winning 3-stars.
There's a rigorous and independent judging process and tasted blind so it doesn't depend on fancy packaging or clever marketing - just taste.
1-star = simply delicious
2-stars = outstanding
3-stars = exquisite
SEAWEED FORAGING TOURS 2025
Discover the hidden treasures of the ocean as our knowledgeable guides share the fascinating history of seaweed in Guernsey and its many uses in cosmetics, farming, cooking and the fashion industry. This is a hands on learning experience – we will be using seaweed moisturiser and you will have the opportunity to eat multiple types of fresh seaweed straight from the beach.

We are excited to announce that our book 'Vraic - A Guide to Guernsey Seaweed' is now available for purchase.
Over 100 pages, 'Vraic' covers the history of seaweed use in Guernsey, different types of seaweeds and how they can be used. The story of Guernsey Seaweed Limited and The Seaweed Food Co, recipes, what the future of seaweed looks like and lots of photographs.

We were proud to take part in a new television series on Jersey and Guernsey, showcasing the islands, the people and produce.
BBC Good Food show
We had a fabulous time at The BBC Good Food Show. Our first off-island event with thousands of people visiting our stall. We spoke to a lot of people about seaweed (and Guernsey) which was very exciting.
